| Stephen Casals comes from a family long seeded in the arts. Pablo Casals is Stephen's Great-Grandfather's Brother (Great-great Uncle) and, coincidentally enough, Stephen played cello for six years before he even realized that Pablo was an ancestor. Another Casals related to Stephen is Meli Casals, from Catalonia, Spain, like Pablo. Meli was a favorite photographer of Salvador Dali's when in Spain. Also from Catalonia, Dali is a good example of the type of passionate blood that flows from the region in the veins of the many who are born or are descended from there. Oh, and Rosemary Casals, tennis player, 2nd cousin. |
